Mom and Dad Kennedy's Mardi Gras BBQ

So Mom and Dad Kennedy decided to join and couples Mardi Gras organization last Mardi Gras.  No worries, only 2 weeks before the parade and somehow they still rode!  (That's how we Head/Kennedy's do it apparently - where there's a will, there's a way!) Pretty sure it's called the Crewe of Marry Mates.  Anyway, they have events throughout the year and they recently had a casual BBQ which included food, drinks, dancing, a watermelon seed spitting contest, raffles, and lots of other fun stuff.  We had a great time!  Robbie wasn't feeling well and missed this one.  =(  I went with Mom and Dad Kennedy, Ronny, David and Lesley, and my friend Karon and her husband Bennie.  We had an awesome time, except that my sweet Robbie was missing.

Our 1st Anniversary!

Robbie and I celebrated our 1st anniversary on June 18, 2011!  I can't believe it's already been a whole year!  I guess the old saying "Time flies when you are having fun" is true!  We had an absolutely amazing 1st year!  I've always heard that the 1st year is the hardest.  If that is true, then I can't wait for all of the fun ahead!  We spent our anniversary weekend at the beach (one of our favorite places).  We got there a little late Friday night, so we ordered take out from Cosmo's and ate at the beach house.  We woke up Saturday and took the boat to Dog Island in the Pensacola area.  We hung out there for the afternoon with some fun friends!  We planned to do an anniversary dinner.  However, we wanted to go night fishing too!  So, we ate a bacon cheeseburger from the Keg and headed back on the boat for some fishing.  (What's better than a Keg burger anyway??)  I captained the boat and Mark and Robbie caught us some white trout.  We caught 8 fish and had a blast!!  We came home Sunday to celebrate Father's Day at Mom and Dad Kennedy's with both of our families.  We had a great day full of fun!  Pumpkin, Pepper, and Sunshine gave Daddy some cool gifts for Father's Day - a cover for his back seat, so they can ride in his truck and not get it dirty and a fun shirt with a dog emblem on it!  We had an awesome weekend!!  We can't wait for our trip to Turks and Caicos for the "real" celebration!

The 1st Annual Kennedy Crawfish Boil!

On Sunday, June 5, 2011, we had our 1st annual Kennedy crawfish boil in celebration of our 1 year anniversary!  We borrowed Mom and Dad Kennedy's beautiful home and pool and had a big time!  Lots of friends came to help us celebrate.  The weather was a little questionable so we had a ton of crawfish leftover.  We iced them down and had another small family party the next night to finish them up.

The fun boat full of crawfish, potatoes, corn, sausage, and mushrooms!  YUM! YUM!

Enjoying some yummy crawfish

I didn't take many pics! =(  I've got to get better with that.  Robbie was there, I just don't have any pictures of him!  =(  We had a great time and really enjoyed spending time with some awesome friends!

Bama girls come to town!!

My bama grad school girls and I get together 3-4 times per year.  They are all such amazing people and such amazing friends!  We always have an awesome time everytime we get together!  The group seems to grow each time as well.  We currently have 6 of us girls, 7 kids (4 and under) and 3 on the way! Whew! Still growing!!!  The 1st weekend of June, Mom and Dad K graciously allowed us to invade their home for the weekend!  Mom and Dad cooked and assisted with childcare for the weekend.  We had an absolute blast!
I'll have to get more pics from the girls - they all have children, which requires a high tech camera and you can always find one laying around, so when I see an opportunity for a cute pic, I just pick one up and start snapping!  They always share, and I thought one of them had already, but I'm unable to locate them at this moment, so the ones posted are compliments of Mom K!  She took them for the blog!  =)  Thanks!!!

Enjoying some pool time!

Mom and baby Joseph (who by the way, my Robbie wanted to keep!  He is the most precious thing!  You can look at him and he smiles!  Good job Kim - or is that he's the 3rd child and has no other choice than to go with the flow??  Either way, he is an absolute joy, as were all of the kids!!  The parents cound not get over how well-behaved all of your children are.  Good job girls!  I'm taking notes.  Hope to use them soon!
